Application Process β€” What you need to apply

  1. Step 1: Prepare & submit a copy of your latest educational transcripts and a recent passport photo.
  2. Step 2: Apply for the student pass on Singapore's ICA (Immigration Checkpoints Authority) website.
  3. Step 3: Upon submission, check for your unique SOLAR+ number to track updates on your student pass application.
  4. Step 4: The application process will take about 4–6 weeks. Singapore's ICA will inform CEC of the outcome of your application.
  5. Step 5: Once approved, CEC will send you an approval IPA (In-Principle Approval) letter.
  6. Step 5.5: If rejected, you may request CEC to do an appeal of your application on your behalf.

Documents to submit

  • Birth certificate (with the student and both parents' names)
  • Highest education certificates and transcripts
  • 2 passport-sized photographs against a white background
  • 1 photocopy of the original passport
  • Documentary proof of financial ability and parent's statement of monthly income with position
  • Names on all documents must tally with the name on the passport
  • Notarised / certified true copies of all the above documents. Copies of all originals and translated versions (in English) must be submitted to CEC for Student's Pass application.

Regulations & Renewal

Student Pass β€” Regulations and Renewal

Student Pass Regulations

Your Student's Pass is not transferable and will be cancelled when you are no longer a student here. If you withdraw or complete your studies at the College, the College will inform ICA. You must return your Student's Pass to the College for cancellation within seven (7) days of your last day in the College. You will be given a copy of the cancellation letter, and you will be able to stay in Singapore for 30 days on a social visit pass.

The initial application fee for a Student's Pass will be paid by the College. Any subsequent fees (e.g. renewal, internal transfer of course) charged by ICA must be borne by you.

Student Pass Renewal

The College will help you with the renewal of your Student's Pass, as long as you inform us at least three (3) weeks before the expiry of your Student's Pass.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your Student's Pass is renewed on time. The College will not be responsible if your pass expires, or your application for renewal is rejected by ICA because you were late in submitting your application for renewal.

Financial Protection

Fee Protection Scheme (FPS)

The Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) serves to protect students' unconsumed fees in the event that a PEI has to shut down, and has insufficient or no funds to pay the unconsumed fees.

Furthermore, the FPS protects the student if the PEI fails to pay penalties or return fees to the student arising from judgements made against it by the Singapore courts. FPS is compulsory for both local and international students taking courses unless a waiver is granted by SSG.

A copy of the College's certificate of FPS Insurance Policy is available HERE.

Details of FPS are included in the PEI-standard student contract. Students should be aware of the clauses and details of the adopted FPS when signing the student contract and the advisory note. Students will also receive information of the FPS from the FPS Insurance Provider through email.

*FPS does not cover Miscellaneous Fees β€” read more in the FAQ section below.
