Before joining Canadian Education College, I was working at Pricewaterhouse Coopers as an audit manager. During my seven years at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, I had opportunities to work in the U.S. office as well as the Singapore office, and I have gained not only accounting and audit-related knowledge, but also project management skills; in addition, I have a better understanding of the cultural differences among Singapore, America and Japan.
After graduating from high school in Japan, I moved to Hawaii to pursue my dream of becoming a translator. At first, it was a struggle, but I rose to the challenge, and kept working towards my goal. With time and effort, my English improved, and I was able to graduate with an MBA, and get a job in the United States. What I appreciate the most now about learning English is that with it, I can share my feelings and thoughts; from my language learning journey, I also have a deeper understanding of someone from another country, neither of which I would have been able to do without knowing English.
Outside of the office, I enjoy travelling and reading novels. English has benefited me in both these areas; when I visit a country, I am able to speak to more people now because I can speak two languages; and English has helped broaden my reading interests. Having studied English as a second language, I can understand how difficult and frustrating it can be to learn English. Therefore, I have a strong passion to make Canadian Education College a place where students can enjoy learning English and can see their improvement. We, as a team, always strive to understand each student’s needs and concerns, and to assist them on their learning journey!
